6. Replication of best practices and success models

8. R&D studies for special problems and problem areas
9. Bringing in appropriate & cost effective technologies

C. Awareness, IEC & Capacitation initiatives
1. Awareness campaign through print and electronic media, ward/grama sabhas, neighbourhood groups, residential associations, NGOs
2. Introducing relevant topics in school curriculum
3. Healthy and hygienic hospital environment
4. Capacitating health workers
5. Orientation, inspiration & motivation of sanitary workers
6. Mass campaign against misuse of plastics

D. Enforcement initiatives
1. Focus on shops and industrial establishments
2. Permit fee, User fee and incentive systems for waste management in public areas- maidans, main roads, bus stands, railway stations etc
3. Building permit to have approved plan for disposal of construction and demolition wastes
