Private limited (PEPL) situated at Vilappilsala, Trivandrum,
is an environmental friendly Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) treatment
plant with a capacity to handle 300 TPD came into operation
in July 2000. The plant has been constructed on 30 acres of
land, and is on contract for 30 years with Trivandrum Corporation
under Built, Operate and Transfer (BOT) scheme. It is the
first and very unique plant in the whole of India having the
facility to process MSW into Organic Bio Manure under one
roof of 1,25,000 square feet. The primary purpose of the project
is to treat MSW applying aerobic composting methodology (windrows)
for a specific period using microbial inoculum. Subsequently,
the treated MSW is sieved through mechanical screening system
in order to separate fine particles of degraded MSW Micro
organisms are added to final product before selling it as
environment friendly Organic Bio Manure. |
